About adidas The vision of company founder Adolf Dassler has long become reality, and his corporate philosophy the guiding principle for successor generations. The idea was as simple as it was brilliant. Adi Dassler's aim was to provide every athlete with the best possible equipment. It all began in 1920, when Adi Dassler made his first shoes using the few materials available after the First World War. The adidas name dates back to 1948, deriving from the first two syllables of Adi Dassler's first and last name. One year later, Adi Dassler registered the Three Stripes as a trademark. After a period spanning almost 70 years, the Dassler Family withdrew from the company in 1989, and the enterprise was transformed into a corporation ("Aktiengesellschaft"). French-born Robert Louis-Dreyfus was Chairman of the Executive Board from April 1993 to March 2001. It was he who initiated adidas' flotation on the stock market in November 1995. adidas--a name that stands for competence in all sectors of sport around the globe. Today, the adidas product range extends from shoes, apparel and accessories for basketball, soccer, fitness and training to adventure, trail and golf.
Product Description Knee high with fold down cuff. Arch compression for support and comfort. Flat knit top for better feel. Brandmark on foot.

| Customer Reviews: Good socks for a reasonable price. September 6, 2008 M. Quon (Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased these Adidas Metro soccer socks because I like to wear two pairs of socks when I play to keep my shin guards in place and also to prevent blisters from my cleats. I had a few pairs of Adidas Copa socks which are nicer, thicker, and more flashy due to the three stripes and embroidered Adidas logo, but I needed a few more pairs of socks to be the "under" pair. If you wear a single pair of socks I would recommend the Copas, but if you're like me and wear two pair at once, save a few dollars and couple a Copa with a Metro sock.
Simple and to the point November 25, 2007 C. Rogers (Seattle, WA) A simple soccer sock with a good, snug fit and clean design (no visible logos). A good deal for $6. Didn't have any of the unraveling issues the other reviewer did.
Decent quality, but overpriced, old merchandise from warehouse July 17, 2010 John I expect that these socks should last a season, as they appear to be of average quality. The manufacturer's list price on the item is $6.00, yet Amazon's advertised price I paid is $7.00! Why not sell out the old stock at the suggested lower price, and then sell newer stock at a higher suggested price? I expect (and usually receive) value from Amazon, but not for this purchase. An item with a manufacturer's list price of $6.00 should not be sold for $7.00 on this web site.
Don't buy this!!!!!!!!!! September 13, 2007 PennySquared 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
My son tried these socks on briefly when they arrived. I must admit I didn't look very closely; just wanted to make sure they fit. When it came time to play soccer, he took them out and there was a big section of one foot that had unraveled. At first we thought a rodent or dog was to blame; on closer inspection, though, it became clear that the product had just come undone. A big disappointment--and a real pain in the neck, since I had ordered them from Amazon (via Prime shipping) to avoid going back to our local sports store. Needless to say, we had to make an emergency dash over there...
